FAX

UPDATE 12.22.11: So the result of one fax to one news organization resulted in the desired effect and we will continue to contact select agengies. But news organizations are only one of the groups that are interested in this injustice. Churches have always shown compassion toward the plight of our son and I have created a “Prayer Request” .docx file which you can download here-> fax_church to fax to any Religious establishment with a fax machine. It’s very easy to locate the numbers by doing a google search for the term “wilmington nc church fax” replacing wilmington nc with the location you are interested in canvasing, such as “knoxville tn church fax” etc. The idea of mercy is a lesson that Jesus Christ brought to earth and is a philosophy that is typically practiced in our courts, especially when the accused is a first timer. Our son has yet to be shown that mercy. If a muslim can be afforded the right to be sworn in on a koran/quran in a court of law, should my son not be afforded the Christian principal of mercy as taught by Jesus? Thanks for your assistance. It’s really starting to have a positive effect. If we can get the churches support, it will go a long way in helping to FREEALEXANDER ….

UPDATE 12.19.11: So just as I suspected faxing politicians had no effect. But, it’s part of the process. Because now, we can claim to the media outlets that are about to be informed, that we did our best to notify the powers that be. Below please find a .docx file named fax_media. If you would like to fax this press release just open it and fax away to your local newspapers/news broadcasts/etc. You can find their contact info by searching google for “Fax number for WLOS” replacing WLOS with the call letters or newspaper name you’re targeting. Or if you’d prefer you can email them using the same .docx file. I expect this phase will result in some actual responses, so it may be best if you leave the contact details found within the file intact.  fax_media.docx

For phone and fax info of what appears to be pretty much all of washington, please click this link. http://www.conservativeusa.org/mega-cong.htm

Did you know that you can fax for free right from your computer? Many services exist now that allow you to send 2 faxes per day even without a subscription. And the process is very simple even if you’re only somewhat internet savey. Fax the candidate of your choice. It could have an immediate impact, minus all the weeks of waiting. According to the above website “Congressional mail security screening can delay postal letters by a few weeks.” So to speed up this process I am asking everyone who is concerned to copy one of the attached templates, change the details to make it your own and fax it to an official, or lots of officials. If  we can find Alexander a friend in Washington, it would greatly increase the chance that someone in a position of power could simply change his sentencing structure to concurrent, which would allow him to come home. If that person were a congressman or senator it would nearly ensure his release. But we can’t expect them to repair this situation unless they are aware of it. Please take the time to send as many faxes as you can. You will find a list of internet fax service providers below. Some free, some pay. As officials are notified their name will be added here (please forward those you’ve contacted to me by using our “contact form” or simply enter the info as a ‘new comment’ on this page) and any subsequent repsonse attributed to that official will also be attached. Alex’s mother and  I are praying  for a Christmas Miracle for our son. Thank you for your consideration.

The following services allow you to send free faxes:
http://www.gotfreefax.com/ – Send up to two free faxes per day. Ad free cover page.
http://faxzero.com/  – Send up to two free faxes per day. 30 Day Free Trial also available. Actual premium service is $10
http://www.myfax.com/free/  – Send up to two free faxes per day, up to 9 pages.

The following providers are mostly pay for service, but may provide a 30 day free trial:
http://www.ringcentral.com
http://efax.com
http://rapidfax.com
http://smartfax.com

YOU WILL NEED: To download our cover letter and whichever of the doc files found below you prefer, or simply type your own words to include in your fax. You will need to include Alexander’s  DOC#, which can be found within each of the fax documents. Another thing to mention I suppose is, these are Office 2007 files. While earlier versions of office will probably open these, it would probably break the formatting I’ve installed surrounding the header(s) and the photo. If you need the files in 2003 format please don’t hesitate to let me know by using the contact page. I’ll reformat them and include them here.

12.12.11 / Political

*This cover letter is designed to grab attention. Please us it on faxes sent on Alex’s behalf between now and Christmas: coverletter

This document is for immediate family members to send: fax_immediate

This document is for concerned citizens to send: fax_concerned

This document is for disgruntled taxpayers to send: fax_taxpayers

Let’s contact as many officials as possible between now and Christmas. They are in Washington right now, pretty much sequestered by the president in lou of an agreement pending on a bill (ironically, a spending bill). If we can get this in front of them right now, it stands the chance of making a big impact. Also, don’t hesitate to fax your local news agencies as well as prominent celebrities. Never underestimate the relationship between those 3 entities; politicians, celebrities and media. They are profoundly similar. God Bless you for your time and attention, and Merry Christmas.

12.22.11: sent faxes church list: This is basically the top churches that google returned to me for the search term “wilmington nc church fax” … there are thousands more pages following this first page, just for wilmington. Please feel free to contact any church in any town in any state. I started with wilmington because that’s near where Alex is from. I’m hoping and praying that these folks can give us some much needed support. Churches are the cornerstone of our country. We need them.

Hi Bryan. In North Carolina, there are presumptive guidelines for felonies and misdemeanors, with minimum appellate review. Since 1999, the state has incorporated a special dispositional grid for juvenile cases(alex was charged as an adult). Parole has been abolished in the state and my research has also indicated that the state walked away from it’s own “speedy trial” amendment in 1989 without recording a reason for the abandonment. I am absolutely convinced that if Alex’s case was brought before a federal court it would be dismissed based on the wording of the 8th amendment citing “cruel & unusual” punishment. Also, it took the court 290 days from arrest to plea hearing with Alex pleading guilty. In my opinion that too is a constitutional violation of the 6th amendment that guarantees the right to a speedy trial.

There are things called sentencing guidelines that are to be followed.. I do not know if that state has sentencing guidelines in place or not if they do and they were not followed most states require that there be significant reason stated as to why they were not…

Hey Thanks Jennifer! I’m sorry it took awhile for your comments to appear, I have the settings as such that a persons first post must be manually approved. After the first post is approved comments will then appear automatically. So, from now on when you post it should appear instantly. This measure is to prevent spammers from posting their nonsense. Regardless, I appreciate your help. Different people faxing differently worded letters of concern are a HUGE help. The more diverse the group and the letters the better our chances of getting attenion.

i checked my email for confirmations and all the faxes were successfully sent. I really like the smartfax service. One of the big perks I like is that it automatically saves your sent names and numbers in a virtual address book …. a book that’s gonna make it too easy to rinse and repeat this entire process. I highly recommend smartfax.

http://news.yahoo.com/lawmakers-reach-deal-fund-government-2012-aides-002845863.html the house and senate are expected to have the spending bill ironed out by this friday (12.16). If they succeed, and they always seem to do so at the very last minute, I’m pretty sure it will put the brakes on our ‘political” fax campaign til they return from Christmas vacay weeks later. In the meantime, we can then shift gears to media outlets and celebs. After christmas we’ll simply take the Christmas Miracle banner down and continue …

I have contacted all the reps listed in NC. The numbers associated with the Governors on that list are NOT fax numbers. I had to go search and find Perdues fax number and include it here for reference. I signed up for a free month of SmartFax and so far it’s totally easy. In all actuality it took about 20 minutes to fax everyone on this list. Once I become profecient at it I should be able to send 50 or so an hour. And, a bonus perk is the address book, which auto stores each name and number, so the next time I do this, I will be able to blast 100 an hour or more. Five stars for smartfax(so far).
